Goo

Goo is the first album that Sonic Youth released
on the Geffen label. The news that Sonic Youth
switched to such a major label was received with
some scepticism by the fans. Sleeping with the
enemy springs to mind. Kim seems to address this
issue in Tunic. I think that when compared to the
demos the album does suffer from some corporate
engineering. To some this album may even seem
like a commercial breakthrough attempt that's
best forgotten. But disregarding all that hype
there are some great tracks on Goo, like Lee's
Mote and Sonic Youth's "hit" record Dirty Boots.
