Sonic Youth EPWhen New York's founding father of the No-Wave
scene, Glen Branca, first saw Sonic Youth he was
so captivated by their music that he wanted them
to be the first band to feature on his own label
Neutral. Five songs were recorded and came out
remarkably well considering the time and finan-
cial constraints. The Burning Spear is the best
known track and makes for a great concert
performance with Thurston beating the crap out
of his guitar with drumsticks and Lee playing
the electric drill(!). Hard to lay yr hands on
but a Geffen rerelease should be on the way.
