Washing MachineIn my opinion Sonic Youth reaches new heights of
musical perfection on this album. Both the Washing
Machine and Diamond Sea track border between what
can be regarded as popular music and full blown
soundscape compositions. Lee's back (And Butch is
gone) with two superb beat-like songs. All band
members combine their musical skills with such
mastery that it allows them to go musically where
other bands can only dream of going. I mean could
any other band pull off a Diamond Sea without
sounding totally pretencious? I don't think so.
Only Sonic Youth can surpass Sonic Youth.
